Reminder: The Windows 11 Upgrade Deadline Is Getting Close!

Featured

Just a friendly reminder that Window 10 reaches end-of-life on October 14, 2025. Computers will need to be upgraded to Windows 10 (or replaced if they are incompatible with Windows 11) before that date.

What Happens If I Don’t Upgrade?

It’s not as if your Windows 10 computer will stop working immediately on the end-of-life date. However, it’s a bad idea to run an end-of-life operating system, for a few reasons:

  • Microsoft will no longer release security updates for Windows 10. Often, Windows updates are released to fix vulnerabilities that have been discovered in the operating system, which viruses and hackers can exploit. After the end-of-life date, these holes will be unpatched.
  • Eventually, software will stop supporting Windows 10. Applications you use daily, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, or industry-specific software will eventually stop working on Windows 10.

We usually tell clients that it’s like keeping an old car that will never again get an oil change. It’s not going to break down immediately, but it will break down eventually, and it’s not a car you want to keep driving - especially at work, where you count on it to make you money! It’s the same way with an old computer running Windows 10.
